FOREWORD

This book presents the proceedings of the conference, held by Institute of Electron Physics Ukrainian Academy of Sciences, dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the Academy. Scholars from known. scientific centers (Moscow, Novosibirsk, Irkutsk, St Petersburg, Debrecen, Kiev, Kharkiv, Lviv, Chernivtsi) have been invited to participate in the conference. By preparing to the conference we tried to involve a wider circle of specialists to discuss the actual physical problems. We hope this meeting to be an impact to the further development of physics.
In accordance with the conference programs, the book contains two sections: (a)solid state physics and (b) atomic and nuclear physics. Unfortunately, not all of the proceedings of the conference are included into the book, so we acknowledge all the colleagues who have sent their papers for being published.
Interesting papers on semiconductors, crystals, semiconductor and microelectronics technologies are given in the first section. Most of them are experimental studies, performed at high level.
The second section contains theoretical and experimental papers on certain up-to-date problems of physical and quantum electronics, contemporary views on the investigations in the field of atomic and nuclear physics.
